If your employer tries to change the conditions of your employment and you go along with this, then you may be viewed as having accepted the change, even if you never said that you accepted it. This is known as “acquiescence”.

So, for example, if your employer reduces your hours and you begin to work the reduced hours, you may be seen to be accepting this change to your contract, even if you never told the employer you agreed to this verbally or in writing.
